Have you ever had a job where you had to close up the building for the evening, all by yourself? Just walking alone into a dark, empty parking lot is enough to make many people uneasy, and for good reason. There’s no telling what could be lurking behind that tree, or that dumpster, or even behind your own car. What’s worse than suddenly realizing you’re not alone? How about suddenly realizing you haven’t been alone all evening? Or were you? Hear how our very own Becky just can’t seem to find an office that’s not haunted, today on Homespun Haints.

What is Galentine’s Day?

Fakey capitalist holiday or not, maybe there’s something to it. We see the inherent value in devoting an entire holiday to female friendships. Just don’t let them convince you that you’re obligated to buy chocolate and flowers; that’s where the spiral starts.

Here’s the fun “woo” women-owned business that Diana celebrated Galentine’s Day 2026 with, The Kismet Collective. If you’re much like us, we think you’ll like them as much as she did.

<img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="768" src="https://homespunhaints.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/IMG_9985-1024x768.jpg" alt="An untouched headshot of the host, Diana, smiling and holding up an artsy peach-colored piece of paper with a squirrel cut-out and this mantra, typed inexpertly on a vintage typewriter: it matters that you care. the outcome doesn't need to affect that.
ANOTHER Haunted Music Studio In A Long Line Of Haunted Studios

What are the odds that Becky would have 4 haunted offices, basically back-to-back? Is she just an incredibly haunted person, as we speculate in this episode? Or is it the town she’s in?

Becky recently moved to a new studio to teach music. At firsts, she didn’t give much thought to the creaky building, or the cemetery it backed up to. But after the experience she had in this episode, she’s wondering why every office she’s in ends up being haunted.

This episode contains our interview with Tina Romero, daughter of the legendary filmmaker George Romero, discussing her film Queens of the Dead at the Buried Alive Film Festival. We promise not to give away any spoilers! Instead, Becky and Diana muse about the evolution of LGBTQ+ and female representation in horror and other media genres. We keep our opinions brief, as there is already enough excellent content about queer symbolism and representation in horror film history out there to keep you busy until next Halloween.

Becky also interviews several independent filmmakers, who had only 13 days to produce each short horror film in the annual Sinema Challenge. We even managed to coax a spontaneous true ghost story out of Shane Morton, AKA professor Morté, horror host of Silver Scream Spook Show. Then, Becky tells Diana funny stories about being trapped on a 12-hour tour with her mom, and the awkward joy of attending the rather bawdy film festival with her teen daughter. There were so many weird and funny outtakes from this episode, which we shared on Patreon.

Listen to the full episode right here:

or watch the video of our interview with Tina Romero and other horror filmmakers on YouTube:

Want to cut straight to the interview? Here’s the short version, containing only the interview Homespun Haints did with Queens of the Dead director Tina Romero.

About the Guest: Tina Romero

Photo courtesy of Buried Alive Film Festival.

It may not surprise you that someone with this last name would be in the zombie business. Yet even when her career veered into the film industry, Tina was always certain she would never make a zombie movie. That certainty suddenly imploded the day she read a headline basically asking why the queer community was devouring its own. The metaphor highlighted the insidious presence of various discriminatory -isms within a community who are united mainly by the discrimination they face themselves. What better way to make social commentary art that metaphorically screams harmful infighting than zombies?

Did our whimsical interview questions pique your curiosity about more practical matters related to the experience of making Queens of the Dead? To hear Tina answer slightly more traditional interview questions, we highly recommend watching the Q&A she did at BAFF after the screening we found on the BAFF Facebook Page. Even if only for the relatable (according to Diana) moment when she calls her partner Liz to the stage and the two decide to share a single chair.

The Buried Alive Film Festival is Alanta’s Horror Film Fest

The 18th annual BAFF screened Queens of the Dead on November 9, 2025. BAFF also awarded Tina Romero with their 2025 filmmaker of the year award.

The BAFF Sinema Challenge: Short Horror Films

Imagine you’re given an abstract topic, one random card from Cards Against Humanity, and you have only 13 days to create a short horror film based on both. This is the Sinema Challenge independent filmmakers face every spooky season at BAFF.

In this episode, Becky does on-the-spot mini-interviews with several indie filmmakers who participated in the challenge, including Marta Correa, Chad Hudson, Vicki Shaplida, Levi Morgan, and Lexi Anthony.

Plaza Theater Atlanta

The Plaza Theater, Atlanta’s hub for cult movies, is the perfect venue for a horror film fest. It’s where we go if we’re in the mood to do the Time Warp with other weirdoes.

Queens of the Dead: Where it Screened + Watch Info

Queens of the Dead (directed by Tina Romero) had its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Festival on June 7, 2025. It also screened at NewFest and SLASH in 2025.

Hopefully, this episode convinced you to watch the film! It really is a fun ride. The gore glittered, but the camp never overpowers the emotional tone of survival horror. We loved the way it unabashedly flips the script by having only one cis-het character, and yet they don’t kill him off at the beginning. It stays true to the nostalgic Romero zombie style and social commentary you crave.

We sit down with psychic medium Patti Negri to explore Dollcraft, her new hands-on guide to inviting the right spirit, banishing the wrong one, and caring for paranormal doll vessels without wrecking your life or ending up like the Warrens. Patti was voted #1 psychic, medium, trance medium, tarot reader, and witch/magickal practitioner in the world in the internationally recognized competition by Times Square Press, so you’ve probably already heard her talk about her paranormal encounters. So today, we asked her some more obscure questions, both continuing our seasonal theme of haunted dolls, and reopening some more intimate questions we’ve been left wondering about for a long time now.

Dollcraft: the Magic of Dolls and Poppets

In this episode, we talk with Patty Negri about haunted dolls, and why intention and boundaries matter more than fear. We learn:

• why dollcraft exists and what it teaches
• how to invite high-vibration spirits into doll hosts (and avoid low ones)
• techniques to cleanse, banish, and set boundaries

Patty breaks down a clear, ethical approach to handling haunted dolls: build a sacred space, work within your own belief system, and be specific about who gets a seat at your table. When a low-vibration hitchhiker shows up, she shares how to banish, reset, and re-establish boundaries—illustrated by the transformation of Patti’s doll “Belle,” whose dark attachment gave way to a kind child spirit after a little dollcraft.

Spectrophilia Tips

We also seem to have finally found a perfect person to ask about spectrophilia, and with an open mind and great sense of humor, Patti talks about the pros and cons of having sex with ghosts. Our conversation offers cheeky (yet practical) tips and bold ideas about physical intimacy with a deceased loved one.

Patti Negri’s Favorite Movies

Since Patti hosts The Witches Movie Coven, we asked her for her recommendations on witchy films to watch this Halloween. Here are her top 3 favorite witch movies:

Practical Magic

Wizard of Oz

Witches of Eastwick

Dragon Magick

In forecasting the rest of 2025, Patti invokes the dragon—an ancient, cross-cultural protector that “lives at the crossroads.” She explains how to create, feed, and task a dragon fetish to focus your will, protect your space, and attract opportunities.

Diana has also been keeping a dragon of her own since we filmed this interview, and has some interesting results she’s sharing with our patrons; if you are curious, you can find us at patreon.com/homespunhaints.

After seven years worth of interviewing people who have true, first-hand ghost stories, Homespun Haints is undergoing a metamorphosis. Stay tuned and we’ll update you soon. Until then, happy Halloween and have a spooky day!

About the Guests: Amy, Megan, and AP of The Activity Continues

The Activity Continues is a paranormal podcast where Minnesotans Amy and Megan talk about ghosts, hauntings, psychics, movies and TV shows (especially The Dead Files), and other spooky things. TAC interviews past Dead Files clients and other interesting people in the paranormal community. Speaking of which, go check out the two-part TAC episode where they interview Becky and Diana: Haints Misbehavin!

Did Amy’s Realtor Hear The Ghost of Bootlegger Kid Cann?

Who is Kid Cann, anyway? Our guest Amy actually has yet another podcast which answers that question better than we could. Volsteadland is a true crime podcast about the seedy underworld of the 1920s and 30s in Minneapolis, focusing on notorious mobster Isadore Blumenfeld, a.k.a. Kid Cann. If it was the bootlegger’s spirit, do you think his message implies a stash of vintage whiskey on the property, or…other…ahem, “things” a mobster might need to hide?

Is the Lutsen Resort Haunted?

Any building that has burned down three separate times seems pretty likely to have incurred some weird vibes (although there were no reported casualties in any of the fires there). Unlike in the South, Minnesotans don’t always gab freely to tourists about their haunted hotels. They do plan on rebuilding, so maybe check the Lutsen Resort Facebook page for updates on new Minnesota ghost stories.

Don’t Talk About The Ghosts

When Megan lived in Bahrain, she couldn’t find any locals willing to talk with her about the supernatural phenomena she was experiencing. She mentioned in this episode that talking about spirits was a cultural taboo in that part of the Middle East because talking about spirits might manifest their presence. We’ve heard similar sentiments from several paranormal investigators we’ve talked with.

And indeed, when we started our little paranormal podcast, we both noticed increased phenomena in our lives. Is this superstition based on yellow car syndrome (which is apparently called Baader-Meinhof phenomenon in academic circles)? Or do you think it’s actually inevitable that, the more we talk about spirits, the more likely we are to have a spooky day?

About the Guest: Jen Mitchell Love

Jen of Boulder, CO, is a divorce attorney, but you might not guess that right away. Her relaxed and playful demeanor and paradigm-shattering spiritual worldview don’t exactly scream “I’ll see you in court.” But she will see you in the 5th Dimension.

Jen says divorce can be a transformation, rather than a painful ending. She specializes in 5th dimensional divorce mediation, which foregoes the hurt, chaos, and destruction of traditional divorce. Instead, divorcees shift into the fifth dimension—an intentional space of empowerment, growth, love, and peace. Jen believes this type of mindful separation benefits everyone, but most of all the kids. Nowadays, this intrepid Virgo offers all kinds of workshops and coaching, designed not to avoid divorce, but to help folks grow from it. You can learn more, sign up for a class, or schedule a free consultation at Jen’s website solacedivorce.com.

As of this writing, Jen has just published a book: Shine, Soul, SHINE!: 30 Days of Self-Discovery and Healing Through Divorce.

The Breath of Death

Jen taught us one of her favorite breathwork techniques to activate different parts of the brain. Remember not to get your medical advice from a ghost podcast, Hainted Loves, and don’t try this one in the sauna.

Start with 7 deep, slow breaths.

Take 14 medium breaths at a moderate pace.

Take 21 quick, shallow breaths.

Repeat 3 rounds of 44 breaths in a row.

Don’t pass out!!!

Jen followed this up by telling a story about the time she didn’t follow that last instruction, and passed out in the sauna after doing breathwork. Oddly, she wasn’t really hurt. In fact, the fall not only changed her view on the way she looked at her life’s purpose, it also ended up fixing a congenital jaw issue, saving her $6000 on mandibular surgery.

Recommended Resources on the Fifth Dimension

Jen recommends Dolores Cannon’s book on the new earth and the fifth dimension. Our previous guest Jordan also recommended this author.

Becky’s New Animal Guide

Do you think alligators are beautiful, even though the Chinese word for alligator translates literally to American ugly fish? What do you think Becky has to learn from her new alligator guide? In this episode, she shares 3 unrelated experiences that have affirmed that this dead log-lookalike is her new totem.

For more true stories about divine inspiration, spiritual alligators, huffing mummies, and, of course, ghosts, check out the Homespun Haints archive of over 200 first-hand true story interviews. In the mean time, please don’t taste the mummies, and have a spooky day!

Ever feel those unblinking glass eyes tracking you as you tip-toe past Granny’s creepy doll collection? Maybe that faint pitter-patter across the hardwoods after midnight isn’t just the cats. This week on Homespun Haints we sit a spell with doll historian and witch Heather Greene, who lifts the lace curtain on the truth about haunted dolls—and, to nobody’s surprise, Hollywood’s been exaggerating. Let’s hear some reassuringly less spooky stories about inspirited dolls that aren’t evil, today, on Homespun Haints.

Heather Greene is an award-winning author, journalist, and acquisitions consultant for Llewellyn Worldwide. Her latest book, Lights, Camera, Witchcraft: A Critical History of Witches in American Film and Television, nabbed a 2022 COVR Gold Award and cements her reputation as a premier film historian of the occult. When she isn’t wrangling manuscripts, Heather co-hosts The Witches Movie Coven, a live weekly livestream that goes on the air every Wednesday at 9 p.m. Eastern. Alongside psychic medium—and fellow haunted-doll collector—Patti Negri, Heather and the coven dissect witchy cinema, swap paranormal war stories, and occasionally let their spirited dolls crash the broadcast. (If the steering wheel on set starts spinning by itself, well… Mary’s just getting in a few practice laps.)

If you, like Becky, are local to Atlanta, you can meet Heather in-person at Mystic South, July 2025.

Inspirited Dolls: Haunted, Portals, or Loved?

Heather went over some misconceptions that pop culture has about possessed dolls. Even haunted dolls don’t hop off the shelf and roam your basement at night. Heather says they’re more like doorways—little portals that let spirits pop in and out of our realm. Diana conceptualizes it this way: spirits must inhabit dolls so they can have the experience of being spoken to as if they were a living person for the first time in a long time, even if just from children. And yet, Heather’s prized (and notably creepy) 1880s German “Peekaboo” doll illustrates the Japanese sentiment that a century of love can, perhaps, give a doll its own soul.

With a personal brood of 1,500-plus antique toys, Heather has seen it all. She can differentiate between inspirited dolls steeped in decades of human emotion and ensouled dolls that anchor one particular spirit, and she can describe how they’re in a totally different category than evil haunted dolls.

Mary the Doll

Mary lived tucked behind the Xbox for a while, and the Forza Horizon 5 steering wheel would start turning even when the console was powered down. They chalked it up to calibration updates—until the wheel fell silent the very night Mary was moved to a different room.

If that tale revs your engine, cruise over to our haunted doll stories and see why relocating the toy often stirs up fresh mischief. Oh, and destroying a haunted doll? All you’ll do is piss the inhabiting spirit off. Dolls are more like portals than possessed. Ridding your home of the portal (the doll) won’t rid you of the spirit. For help with that, well, Heather recommended Unquiet Voices: The Magical Art of Laying Ghosts for an occult perspective on ghost hunting.

Heather also shares some practical doll restoration precautions. For example, watch for toxic mold in aging plastics; those “cheese-vomit” fumes are far from harmless.

Other Homespun Haints Episodes About Haunted Dolls and Haunted Objects

If you’re feeling emboldened by Heather’s reassurances in this episode, now’s a good time to check out our other, more scary stories about dolls. Brush up on how to take photos of Robert the Doll without courting a curse. Then dig into Duane Cerny’s trove of haunted antiques to learn what some heirlooms still remember. Lindsay’s personal ghost stories about Barbie dolls will make you think a little differently about the ways ghosts interact with dolls.

Baby Diana and her Raggedy Anne Knockoff doll

Whether you’re a die-hard skeptic or the type who leaves a night-light on for household haints, this episode should reassure you that, while every doll may very well have a spirit inside, the chances of that being an evil spirit are both rare, and somewhat within your control. But those with pediophobia are still at a high chance of having a spooky day.

With his book Beware the Banshee’s Cry as our guide, Steven reveals the fascinating complexities behind these ethereal messengers.

About the Guest: Steven J. Rolfes

Steven J. Rolfes is the author of several books about paranormal folklore. He also writes about the history of his home town, Cincinnati, OH. When he’s not writing, he tells ghost stories on the radio, which we can relate to. His most recent book at the time of this writing, Beware the Banshee’s Cry, is all about the history and mystery of banshees, and their origins in Irish lore.

What is a Banshee?

What exactly is a banshee? Steven presents three possibilities: the ghost of an ancestor with either loving or vindictive intentions, a fairy from the ancient Tuatha de Danann, or perhaps most intriguingly, a transformed Celtic goddess (at least one didn’t become a saint). The name itself—”bean sí” or “woman from the fairy mound”—connects these entities to pre-Christian Celtic traditions that have survived centuries of cultural evolution.

The Banshee of Irish Lore

From Lady Fanshawe’s encounter with a floating red-haired apparition at O’Brien castle in 1649, to a mysterious black cat haunting a Cincinnati hospital in 1879, these stories span continents and centuries. We also discuss similar lore about supernatural messengers worldwide, including Germany’s White Lady (Weissefrau) and Mexico’s weeping woman (La Llorona), showing how humans across cultures have personified premonitions of death.

The banshee folklore of Ireland contains some familiar elements—the banshee’s treasured combs that shouldn’t be stolen, the protective power of iron against supernatural entities, and the specific families traditionally haunted by these harbingers.

Will the Banshee Cry for You?

Banshees and their lore follow Irish families wherever they travel…but only specific families. Listen now to discover whether your Irish heritage comes with its own supernatural warning system, and consider: if you heard three knocks at your door tonight, would you have a spooky day?

Ever wonder what your past lives reveal about your current issues? Astrologer Susan Reynolds shares a true story about how her seemingly “boring” psychic vision of a past life completely transformed her client’s current life.

Watch it on YouTube:

Or listen here:

Past lives, spirit guides, and ghosts all play into Susan’s unique brand of astrology. But, she wasn’t always a full time professional astrologer. Once upon a time, she held down a corporate job and kept her gifts a secret from her coworkers.

Today, however, she has fully embraced her calling. And, as you can imagine, the dead keep giving her glimpses into the past, both for herself and for her clients. Her stories are wild. And you’ll hear them, today, on Homespun Haints.

About the Guest: Susan Reynolds, Astrologer

Susan Reynolds, Astrologer

Susan is a Karmic Astrologer, who reluctantly began talking with the dead when they wouldn’t let her be. What makes Susan’s story particularly intriguing is her initial resistance to these gifts. She eventually discovered through a dream that her fear likely stemmed from a past life as a trance medium in the 1800s who had a frightening experience with a spirit who refused to leave her body. This personal past life karma explains her extreme fear of ghosts in this lifetime—a reluctance she has gradually overcome to embrace her full range of abilities.

Susan meditates on each chart before doing a reading, during which time she is usually shown visions of past lives and how they are impacting this current life. Her clients find answers to questions they have struggled with for years, and a connection to a higher spiritual path. She does both live and Zoom readings, which you can peruse and schedule on her website, exploreastrology.com.

For those who just want to dip a toe in, follow Susan’s free monthly predictions for each sign. Follow Susan on Facebook for daily moon advice, or consider subscribing to her monthly moon energy email newsletter.

If you’re ready to jump into astrology headfirst and want to learn how to read your own chart or read for others, Susan is about to start offering a 3 month intuitive development course (she says we all have some sort of ability to develop, no matter how latent). Susan talks with a lot of spirits during her sessions, but she’s also spotted a couple ghosts out of context. Her first true ghost story starts around 35:00.

How to Interpret Past Life Karma

Do our greatest fears come from our past lives? How can an astrological birth chart help us find out? This reminds me of the book we are reading in HH book club this month (May, 2025), which is open to all our listeners at the “free” level of Patreon support. If you’re reading this in the future, check our Patreon page to see if we are still doing HH Book Club.

If you’re interested in exploring some of the resources that helped Susan embrace her own innate psychic abilities, Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. free study groups meet all over the USA, both in-person and online. Find one near you here.

Are All Past Life Visions Relevant?

During this episode, Diana shares her disappointment that her only past life regression session didn’t feel relevant or meaningful to her present. When Susan heard that, she advised Diana to interpret the past life vision like a dream. Although Diana’s been doing dream interpretation for almost 3 decades, this approach to past lives never occurred to her. It makes sense, though, that the Akashic Records would likely use the same symbolic-image-based language of the subconscious that dreams use to communicate.

Fortunately, Susan was able to clarify some past life meaning within Diana’s current life when she read Diana’s birth chart.

Do Children Remember Their Past Lives?

Last year, we released a bonus episode about some of the most astounding memories that children have retained from their past lives…or at least, the researchers who worked with them couldn’t figure out any other way these children had detailed knowledge about recently deceased people from different places that they had never met or heard of.

Do you recall any of your past lives, or have you learned about them through the Akashic Records or some other method? If you have a past life story you’d like to share, why not submit it to be on a future episode of our podcast?

Is the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN Haunted?

Susan’s second ghost story takes place at the Pigeon Forge Titanic Museum during an overnight ghost hunt. Susan recalls that the guests were encouraged to wear period dress to match the Titanic theme. So when a quiet little boy dressed in 1920’s hat and trousers struck up a game of hide and seek with Susan, she took it in stride…until the little boy in period dress disappeared.

Later on in the museum exhibit, the guests were ushered onto a replica Titanic lifeboat. While sitting in the simulated lifeboat, Susan felt the brush of cloth against her leg, but when she scooted over to make room for the guest beside her, there was nobody there.

Haunted Objects from the Titanic

Susan got the definite impression that the hauntings at the Pigeon Forge Titanic Museum were attached to objects from the original Titanic. We’ve previously heard from several guests who’ve experienced spirits attached to haunted objects.

Speaking of haunted antique objects, the anti-toe-stub skull slippers Diana endorses are available here. Fair warning: there are several versions on the ‘Zon, and not all are comfy or sized accurately.

What’s it Like Getting an Astrology Reading with Susan?

Have you ever received a custom astrology reading? I’m not talking about reading your horoscope…all the astrologers we’ve interviewed say those are just the tip of the iceberg. I’m talking about having a professional astrologer–perhaps even one with psychic gifts–generate a birth chart based on your birth time and location, and then interpret its relevance to your life and what that might mean for your past, present, or future.

Well, even though Diana’s been dabbling in astrology since the 8th grade, she hadn’t had a pro read for her. So when Susan offered her a reading while we were recording this episode, Diana jumped at the chance to have that experience. And she’s very glad she did, as she never expected it to be so spot-on accurate. Finally, Diana got the clarity she was looking for about the near future and her soul’s purpose, and things have only been looking up since then.

Diana’s Past Life Karma and Astrology Birth Chart

This isn’t just fluff and flattery; Diana can be difficult to impress. Here’s a list of highly specific things Susan intuited about Diana’s life that she had no business knowing about:

Was instantly upset to have been born here…again.

Intolerant of religious intolerance, and unable to find belonging in organized religion.

Was supposed to study abroad in college, but didn’t (“I did eventually get to visit Innsbruck, and yes I would’ve loved it”).

Had a different learning style than others, and thus felt like she shouldn’t speak up at all in school.

Provides unpaid therapy to pretty much everyone, whether asked for or otherwise, and gets frustrated when people want to talk about a problem instead of implementing solutions.

A continuous battle between the desire to be center stage and the desire to blend into the background (“OMG I’ve never felt so seen”).

Extreme sensitivities to many foods.

Primarily bone, tooth, and skin health issues.

Compulsively has to address things directly, in the moment, rather than holding her tongue.

Shouldn’t have loaned money to a specific person in her past (“well yeah, I know that now“).

Has just this January come out of a ~3 year period of severe physical and emotional fatigue.

If you have listened to EVERY episode of Homespun Haints podcast, you might recall some stories Diana has told about…well, all of these things Susan read in her chart. But would you have remembered all of these specifics on the spot? Do you feel like these items are reasonably specific to Diana? Or are they just generic, and could be said of anybody?

And it got even more personal than just those things. Susan kindly provided a video recording of her session with Diana, which is good because there was a LOT of information to communicate. You can head over to our Patreon to see the original video for all the juicy details, and have a spooky day!

Tormented by Duendes as a Child

Chris tells us the story of his first paranormal encounter as a kid growing up in The Bronx. Were those strange, short creatures he saw in his mom’s bedroom duende? He only remembers it happening once, but his super-Catholic mom says it was actually many more times, always around 3am. She’d seen the little people too, validating what he saw.

Then they moved to Queens, where his experiences were to be a whole lot more terrifying.

Paranormal Mysteries in Queens

His Aunt called them “visitors.” They turned on the stereo when nobody else was home. Then came the heavy footsteps from the attic, as soon as the lights were out. Chris’ dad blamed pigeons and squirrels. But that didn’t explain the 3 am growling. Or the 3 knocks on the front door that repeatedly happened when nobody was there.

Chris wasn’t the only one in the house to experience the paranormal during the witching hour. His cousin saw an inexplicable light, moving from the bathroom to the basement and back, for hours. When his aunt was home alone, she’d hear heavy footsteps coming from Chris’ empty room. Then his other aunt got bodily thrown out of the bathroom by an unseen force. His grandmother couldn’t sleep, for all the voices in the house. Then, the ghost confronted and threatened his mom, choking her with invisible hands. His sister had an imaginary friend named Andy, a kid who dressed in a 1920’s sailor suit and wasn’t allowed to leave the block. Chris would hear his name being called in his family’s voices, which his mother warned him not to listen to.

Later, the neighbors revealed that the previous residents were allegedly Satanists. Chris’ family bought the house as-is, full of the previous resident’s furniture…and old WWII Axis memorabilia.

Paranormal Stories from NYC

The Full Tortoise Video

Of course, we have to include the full video of the amorous tortoises mentioned at the beginning of the episode. Here you are, and you’re welcome (or sorry?).

Can You Debunk Chris’ Stories?

Chris’ paranormal encounters in NYC were intense and terrifying, but also mysterious. From the UAP light that followed him and his mom home, to the entity that threatened the lives of the entire family, the experiences led Chris to a spiritual awakening. And yet, he still craves an explanation, pleading with listeners to give him a better rationale than pigeons and squirrels.

Can you figure out what was lurking in that Queens duplex? Or better yet, can you scientifically explain all of the phenomena Chris described in the episode? Or are you like us, just having a mysteriously spooky day?

Are Courtney’s stories of telekinesis real, or did an earthquake suddenly shatter her reality? While nursing a broken heart in an upscale London cocktail bar, Courtney’s eyes landed on a bottle of El Dorado rum. This Guyanese spirit held deep emotional significance related to her recent breakup. What happened next shocked both her and the bartender. The mystery deepened when, upon leaving the bar, she encountered a street musician playing “Three Little Birds”—their song. Telekinesis? Manifestation? Or something else entirely?

About the Guest: Dr. Courtney Craig

In this episode of Homespun Haints, Becky and Diana welcomed their longtime friend Courtney, who joined them from, Munich, Germany. This reunion was particularly special as Courtney was the mutual connection who originally brought the hosts together years ago in Florida.

In her day job, Dr. Courtney Craig is an expert chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) nutritionist. By night, she is working on an exciting new venture: opening Frau Bar, Munich’s only bar dedicated to the FLINTA community (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, transgender, and agender individuals).

URGENT: Our friend Courtney from this recent episode needs your help; all you have to do is click on this link to her IG post, and “like” the IG post (https://www.instagram.com/reel/DIRODSRsQdP) so she can win her pitch contest and secure funding. Thank you!

Please consider supporting or sharing Courtney’s crowdfunding campaign to open Frau Bar Munich.
Manifesting in Bars All Over Europe

Throughout the episode, a thread emerged connecting Courtney’s unexplainable experiences with her life’s trajectory. From the telekinesis incident in a London bar to now opening her own bar in Munich, she seems to be following a pattern of manifestation—turning emotional energy into her tangible reality. Courtney has repeatedly manifested significant life changes: learning German, moving to another country as a solo female, establishing a community of over a thousand queer women, and now creating a safe community space for those who lack one.

What is Frau Bar?

Frau: A FLINTA Bar will be Munich’s only dedicated bar for queer women—a vibrant, inclusive space for FLINTA* individuals to connect, unwind, and celebrate community. More than just a bar, Frau is a social hub where you can meet like-minded people, attend queer events, and enjoy a welcoming atmosphere that truly feels like home.

The German acronym FLINTA describes a spectrum of gender identities that have something to do with minority genders or the female experience. It stands for Frauen, Lesben, Intergeschlechtliche, Nicht-binäre, Trans, and Agender.

Frau Bar will serve the LGBTQ community in a way that sounds like a delicious mixture of Cubbyhole, Cheers, and The Planet; as a café and bar hosting regular meetups, women’s sports screenings, and international queer events in a space designed for visibility, connection, and belonging.

If you’re in Munich, we hope you drop by Frau-A FLINTA Bar and order our signature Homespun Haints–sponsored cocktail: the Have a Spooky Day!
